“Joan identified my basic problem within 15 minutes of our first session. She has taught me how to approach test questions, which has helped tremendously. She was VERY dedicated and did not mind explaining the same thing until I understood the concept. She made up easy and relevant examples to help me understand complicated work. “Definitely YES - I liked how she engaged with Phillip, it is clear that she has little ones of her own. I also liked that Bongeka persisted in speaking to Phillip in Zulu. She clearly has a lot of patience. I loved how she read the story and even questioned whether the Zulu used in the book was correct, which showed me that she was reading with great comprehension. Bongeka went out of her way to pronounce the Zulu words loudly and clearly to Phillip and she even explained how words were created, e.g. nr 6 and the thumb. She has a very good command of both English and Zulu. I am very impressed. On Sunday, Phillip wanted to know when my "friend Bongeka" would be visiting again, as he really liked her.”
