• Being admitted at one of the most prominent universities in south africa (Wits University) to study actuarial sciences has been by far my proudest achievement .
• Finishing 2/3 beautiful novels that my lecture recommended I read was also a wonderful journey to embark on .

My previous endavours helping out with mathematics had been to put strong emphasis on basic key mathematical concepts and fundamentals.Stressing out the significance of notation,structure and proof layout to enable the student a fair chance of utilizing prior knowledge on working independently.

I strongly encourage students to pre and post read. Firstly, we focus on gaining understanding of fundamental concepts. Once the student has sound understanding, we then try to dedicate time to memorizing, whilst subsequently emphasising that memorization should never replace understanding.

It is imperative of me to give students opportunities to think and engage with this subject, by associating relevant course work with relevant real life applications. I also work to determine learners' prior knowledge to formatively access what the student knows and build on that.

I like to promote student interaction to help the learner construct their own learning, while expressing themselves in the language. I provide them with interactive opportunities such as open discussions and reading aloud. I encourage past exam preparations alongside creative literature.
