• BSc at Rhodes university majoring in Zoology, Ichthyology and Psychology and PGCE with distinction.
• Teaching: 4 years Natural & Life Sciences, 2 years ESL in China, 1 year Gr.5 Science and Geography.

Achievements
• Half distinction at Rhodes University for my BSc degree and distinction for my PGCE.
• Coordinating grade 8 Natural Science in my first year of teaching and then being offered to coordinate grade 11 Life science.
• A group of students I was tutoring obtained silver at the regional Science Expo.

- School Tutoring
Life Sciences (Biology)
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI have taught grade 10, 11 and 12 Life sciences during my nearly 8 year teaching experience, therefore I have a holistic perspective on the learners academic journey in this subject. Kinesthetic learning is key to grasping challenging processes, therefore this will be an integral part of my lessons.
Natural Science
Grade 1 - Grade 9 NSCI have taught grade 8 and 9 Natural science in my 8 year teaching experience, and was the grade 8 school coordinator for 4 years. I understand the importance of developing academic vocabulary and foundational knowledge in the sciences, therefore this will be an integral part of my online lessons.
Geography
Grade 1 - Grade 12I enjoyed and excelled in Geography at school and I have had recent experience teaching this subject in a classroom setting. Many of the topics in Geography involve physical processes and being able to identify them in application questions.
Physical Science
Grade 1 - Grade 10I understand the pressures involved in this subject and have seen that a secure academic foundation in grade 10 is incredibly important for academic competency in grade 11 and 12.
Mathematics
Grade 1 - Grade 9Practice, practice, practice. This is so important in mathematical studies. Tutoring this subject I would model problem-solving first, then guide the learner into solving the problem themselves, then make them 'the teacher' by explaining and modelling the problem-solving skills taught back to me.
