I thrive in my work by transforming learning environments into places where one is pushed beyond their perceived capabilities. We were all born great and need to claim it. That is what I am about.

I am a patient and kind human being. In addition, I am not very good at asking for help myself. As such, I can easily spot someone who needs help but is not asking for it. In that way, I am able to approach that person, but instead of offering my help directly, I devise ways of engaging in a back and forth task that addresses the question that they needed help with in the first place.

My Proudest
Achievements

• My proudest moment is whenever I sacrifice my own needs to help a family member (immediate or distant) with their financial situations. In addition, I have worked hard in my life and to be counting down to a doctoral graduation in a couple of months is another proud moment for me.

As a postgraduate and research scientist, I have had to learn and unlearn a lot along the way and in doing so, now understand what it takes to succeed in a learning/teaching environment. Tutoring underprivileged Math students and lecturing undergraduates has further ingrained these skills in me.

My fascination with biology stems from an early age in my life and is the driving force behind my soon-to-be-concluded doctoral studies. Biology is such a fun subject when approached with the right attitude and it is this approach (as instilled by my brilliant former lecturers) that I want to share.

The laws of physics govern pretty much everything around us. An understanding of how these can be applied to our day-to-day routines is essential for the learning process of a student. The opportunity to share that notion with a student for their understanding of the content is my driving force.
