I am a cheerful, friendly, creative, kind and dedicated individual. I love what I learn and love helping others learn and understand.
I am friendly, patient, determined and dedicated and never leave a job half-done. I put my all into everything I do and I am passionate about the subjects which I tutor. I am also understanding and tolerant and know how it feels to struggle with a concept or subject. I am cheerful, kind and passionate about helping others grow.
Education
• First year student at UCT studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English, Psychology and French, as well as a year-long course in Quantitative Literacy.
• Qualified Word Works tutor.
• B1 in DELF French
My Proudest
Achievements
• I have achieved a B1 level proficiency in the DELF French exams, which is the second highest level of proficiency. I have had three of my poems published in the English Alive poetry anthology. I am a qualified tutor for Word Works - a program which teaches underprivileged children to read and write.
Subjects
French
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBI have been an A-grade student in French throughout high school and am currently studying French at second year level at UCT. I have also achieved a level B1 (second to highest level) in the international DELF French proficiency exams.
English
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBI am passionate about English as a language in a literary sense. I'm also a published poet and achieved 87% for matric, and was an "A" student throughout high school. I am currently in my first year of studying English at The University of Cape Town.
History
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBI studied history throughout High School and I am extremely passionate about it. I achieved A grades throughout high school for the subject and continue to grow my knowledge of history through reading.
Mathematics Literacy
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBI achieved A grades for Maths Lit throughout high school and a distinction for it in matric. I am currently studying a MAM1014F course at The University of Cape Town, which could be considered university level maths lit.
Afrikaans
Grade 1 - Grade 10 IEBI am mostly proficient in Afrikaans and studied it throughout my school career, achieving an average of either an A or B grade. I believe I would be mostly valuable as an Afrikaans tutor to grades 10 and below
Guitar (Contemporary)
Beginner (Grades 1 - 3) IEBI am a guitar player that can teach beginners practical guitar such as basic finger style and chords as well as advanced chords and strumming. I am a musician and have released an album with me singing and accompanying myself on guitar.
