Bio
I am a second-year Bachelor of Science student at the University of Cape Town. I love the outdoors and would spend all my time hiking or swimming in the sea if I could.
I am the eldest child of three and often have to help my sister and brother with schoolwork. I also have au pairing experience. It is great to see how much I can help others excel.

• 2020: Matriculated (Union High School)
• 2021 - present: Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology & Environmental and Geographical Science (University of Cape Town)

Achievements

• I was the top student in my Matric class in my year.
Subjects
Mathematics
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCMathematics was my favourite subject while at school. I am lucky to have had great teachers who inspired me and taught me to love the subject. I hope I can help others to enjoy Maths as much as I do. I matriculated with 91% in Maths.
Life Sciences (Biology)
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCBiology is such a fun and interesting subject. Beneficial ways to learn it are by using active recall and by explaining what you have learnt to others. When you start trying to rote learn the content you lose the enjoyment. I achieved 83% in the subject in Matric.
Physical Science
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCPhysical Science can be a challenging subject and even had me confused sometimes, but I promise that with practice and understanding, nothing is too difficult! I matriculated with 85% in this subject.
English
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSC (Home Language)English is my home language, so I grew up hearing and speaking it, but it wasn’t until high school that I started to really love it. This was because of my amazing English teacher who made each lesson interesting and exciting. I hope to incorporate the same techniques of teaching when I tutor.
Afrikaans
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSC (First Additional Language)Up until Grade 12, I always avoided Afrikaans because I struggled with the language, but when I moved to an Afrikaans-speaking area, I was forced to speak it and realised how valuable it is. Sometimes we must be thrown in the deep end and come out better for it.
Life Orientation
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCLife Orientation teaches us important life facts and enables learners to master several skills that will assist them in advancing throughout life. I matriculated with 96% in this subject.
Accounting
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCIf you love numbers and have more of a practical mind, then Accounting is for you! Before Grade 10, I vowed I would never take Accounting because I thought it was a bore, but I tried it out and never looked back (and ended up matriculating with 94%).
Natural Science
Grade 1 - Grade 9 NSCNatural Science is the start of your love for Science (both Biological and Physical). I have a brother who is in Grade 9 who I help with the subject.
English
Beginner - Intermediate NSC (Home Language)English, especially English writing, is something beautiful that allows you to escape the world and fall into another dimension where anything is possible. Writing your own pieces can be a fulfilling and fun process. Let me help you master the language.
Chemistry
First Year CEM1000WChemistry is a challenging subject but has always been my favourite between Chemistry and Physics. I especially love the Organic Chemistry section. I passed this module with a distinction.
Mathematics
First Year MAM1004FHaving done Advanced Programme Maths at school, I knew what to expect at university. I ended up passing this module with 91% in my first year! Once you know how to do it, Maths can be fun. Practice makes perfect!
French
First Year SLL1060F, SLL1061SWhat a beautiful language! I chose French as an elective course and totally fell in love. Learning a new language is challenging and requires continual practice. I am going on a semester exchange to Switzerland soon to become fluent in French.
Statistics
First Year STA1007SStatistics is a subject that everyone warns you about, saying how terrible and difficult it is. Many people go into it fearful and hating the subject. I promise it isn’t as bad as everyone makes it sound. Statistics can be extremely useful, especially in Science/Research fields.
Geography
First Year GEO1009FEven though Geography is content-dense, it can be refreshing to be able to walk in nature and know what you are looking at as well as be able to share your knowledge with others. It is a great course to take even if it's just an interest of yours. I achieved a distinction in this module.
