Bio
I'm that strange species of person generated by shoving the following into a blender: health-freak, work-oholic, language nerd, literature and creative arts geek, life-loving productive bee.
The patience, empathy and clarity of my favourite teachers, an electric, student-focused passion. and what I believe is a terminal case of enthusiasm. I customise lessons to pupils' needs, listen deeply, and prepare lesson materials in advance. I aim not merely to foster proficiency in my students, but the tenacity to master their own learning and claim ownership of their lives.

Subjects
English
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSC, CambridgeEnglish Language and Literature is not just one of my University majors (I came second in my year), but a lifelong project sprouting from my passion for reading and writing blogs, novels, short stories and essays. One might say, it's my life.
Afrikaans
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSC, CambridgeAfrikaans didn't come naturally to me until I started committing myself. I began assisting peers at the senior high school level, and have since tutored primary and high school students in what is, to my delight, a beautiful and accessible language.
History
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI've always excelled in History class (from source-analyses to critical responses) to which I owe much of my continued engagement with liberation movements. My focuses are postcolonial, green, feminist, queer and Left Libertarian political histories.
Mathematics
Grade 1 - Grade 7 NSCMy Maths prospered throughout Primary and High Schools (typically 78-90%), although I switched to Maths Literacy in Matric once I knew I wouldn't need Maths in university. Happy to help with all Primary School Maths.
Xhosa
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI earned only consistent Firsts and Seconds for the First Year Xhosa courses at UCT, which cover the entire high school NSC syllabus. I also have an extensive background in language education from beginner to advanced, in both English and Afrikaans.
English Literature
First Year - Second Year University of Cape TownI finished second in my year for English Literature at the University of Cape Town, due primarily to sensitive and committed reading skills, and a particular passion for essay-writing, after consistent As throughout my schooling.
Conversational English
