Bio
I believe that I am hardworking, dependable and that I am able to adapt to any learning style. I believe that education is essential to grow and develop a sustainable and brighter future for everyone.
I have a passion for the subjects I am offering to tutor, and I enjoy teaching others and helping them grow their knowledge base, as I believe it not only helps with future opportunities but also helps to build confidence, reduce stress and anxiety, and help one to think clearly in a test or exam. I will push my students to do their best by tutoring them in a style that suits their needs.
Education
• 2019 - I matriculated from Bryanston High School.
• 2020 - I completed my first year of a BSc Animal Science at UP.
• 2021 - I am in my first year of an MBChB at UP.
My Proudest
Achievements
• I was accepted into my first year of Medicine (MBChB degree) after working extremely hard throughout my first year of university, as well as I received 12/14 distinctions in my first year of university in 2020 - letting me complete my first year with distinction.
Subjects
Mathematics
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI received 75% in Matric for NSC Mathematics and have informally tutored grade 10 Maths whilst still in high school. I have also completed two university Maths courses at the University of Pretoria in my first year, both with distinction at a university level. I believe Maths is essential in life.
Life Sciences (Biology)
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI have a passion for Biology and received 82% for the subject in Matric at an NSC level. I have also completed three courses related to Biology at university level in my first year of university. Great marks for Biology are essential for people wanting to go into a medical or biological field.
Physical Science
Grade 1 - Grade 12 NSCI received 81% for Physical Science in Matric at an NSC level, and also received a distinction in both a Physics and a Chemistry course in my first year of university. I believe Science is very important for the advancement of both medicine and technology, amongst other things.
Applied Statistics
First Year BME120I received a distinction for Biometry in my first year at the University of Pretoria in 2020. Biometry is all about learning your formulas as well as reading a question with the intent to understand what is being asked of you - if you ace these, Biometry should be relatively easy for you.
Applied Mathematics
First Year WTW134 or WTW165I received a distinction for Applied Calculus in my first year at the University of Pretoria in 2020. Applied Calculus is based on prior knowledge from calculus in Matric, although there is a simple way to explain it from scratch that will make it easier to join each concept into a bigger picture.
Biology
First Year BOT161I received a distinction for Plant Biology in my first year at the University of Pretoria in 2020. Botany builds on the foundation learnt in grade 10 Biology, although it can be taught from the very beginning in a way that is simple to understand and easy to grasp.
Microbiology
First Year MBY161I received a distinction for Introductory Microbiology in my first year at the University of Pretoria in 2020. Microbiology builds upon previous knowledge learned in high school but can also be easily taught from the beginning. It relies on studying and understanding the content and questions asked.
Human Biology
First Year MLB111I received a distinction for Molecule to Cell Biology in my first year at the University of Pretoria in 2020. MBY is a bit tricky if you did not do Biology in high school but can be learnt from the beginning. It requires you to link concepts together to get a bigger picture of how cells function.
