Familiarise yourself with each family member’s commitments for the week. Consider school activities, pickups, work meetings, social commitments, dental or health appointments, and so on, so that you have a good idea of what the week will look like.
To make sure you haven’t missed anything, confirm with your children about any events happening at school or important appointments they need to attend.
Using a digital or physical planner, create your must-do list for the week. Focus on tasks that absolutely need to be completed rather than a wish list of things you’d like to get done.
Write these down so they’re not swirling around in your mind on Sunday evening, making it easier to cross them off as you go.
Take some time as a family to put away clean laundry, fold it, or place it in the cupboard. While doing this, gather any dirty clothes to ensure they are ready for a wash on Monday morning.
Ensure everyone has their school or work clothes, shoes, and bags ready for Monday morning. Don’t forget to check PE kits and clothes for extracurricular activities too.
If you want to save time, prepare lunches on Sunday evening and store them in the fridge. Also, check for and discard any leftover lunches from Friday afternoon.
Prepare breakfast items on Sunday evening to save time on Monday morning. Set out bowls, spoons, cereal boxes, tea bags, or coffee so that in the morning, all you need to do is grab the milk and fresh fruit.
Consider meal planning for the week ahead, including breakfasts, lunches, and any baking you plan to do, like muffins or granola.
Keep water bottles filled and ready for the next day. Fill them on Sunday evening and store them in the fridge to make it easy to grab and pack in school bags.
End your Sunday with a clean and organised space. Tidy up paper clutter, fill the dishwasher, put away books and toys, straighten cushions, and pair up shoes in the hallway.
You’ll thank yourself on Monday morning!
