Bio
I am someone who is so passionate about education I hope to be learning for the rest of my life both formally and informally. Having been required to read Dickens for school, I do not give up easily.
I make a point of understanding things from multiple perspectives and this gives me the ability to not only understand people and their feelings in different ways, but also problems and how they can be solved. I also have a sister who is fifteen so my patience is infinite and this is important when dealing with work that may have to be explained in a number of different ways for it to hit home.

Subjects
English
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBAfter high school I was an au pair for a grade seven pupil, and accordingly acted as a tutor to her for all of her subjects. I have also had both secondary and tertiary experience as an English student and thus have an understanding of what is expected of students and how best to study English
History
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBHistory is a diverse subject in its content and its approaches. Engaging with these different approaches is important in being able to discuss history critically. This is something most students struggle with. Having studied history at university this is an ability I am familiar with and can impart.
Life Sciences (Biology)
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBLife sciences is the type of subject that once the work is laid out simply, it just clicks. So, having taken life sciences until grade 12 and done well in it I believe that I have got a handle on this way of approaching the subject and a good perspective on it.
Business Studies
Grade 1 - Grade 12 IEBThere is more to doing well in business studies than understanding the content, because of the volume of work and depth of the questions usually asked it is important to know how to study effectively. Through my own studies this is a skill I understand well and can teach to others.
English Literature
First Year UniversityEnglish is a unique subject for me it is one that I am both passionate about and have failed at. This gives me a unique perspective on how to successfully persevere through the subject when you are not doing as well as you'd like.
History
First Year - Second Year UniversityHaving been a tertiary history student for two years I have honed in on the skills required to excel in it as well as what is expected of students from lecturers. Having studied history at this level for two years I can also teach you how to engage with it academically and critically.
Reviews from others
“I am so glad I chose Micaela to be my daughter's tutor as I have seen Gala struggle tremendously over the past couple of years whenever it came to history, she never seemed to understand the topics and would always panic whenever she had a history test. Though nowadays, I can tell that she's not nearly as stressed out anymore and she's even started to take a huge interest in the subject! Gala always looks forward to the weekly sessions with Micaela and I honestly cannot thank Micaela and teachme2 enough. ”- Noura
“Micaela has demonstrated an interest in seeing Akwande succeeding in her Matric, year. Her feedback in monitoring her progress is highly appreciated. ”- Ndumi
